Cooling Pads in Greenhouse Climate Control

Evaporative cooling pads cool greenhouse intake air as water evaporates across a corrugated media wall. Used with exhaust fans, they form a pad-and-fan system that cuts peak summer temperatures without mechanical refrigeration. ClimaSpan helps size pad face area and thickness from greenhouse volume and local wet-bulb conditions, then quotes pads with matched fans by project.

Frequently asked questions

How do evaporative cooling pads work in a greenhouse?

Exhaust fans pull outside air through a wetted pad wall. As water evaporates, the air temperature drops before it enters the crop zone. Effectiveness depends on outdoor wet-bulb temperature, pad thickness and face velocity.

What pad thickness should I choose?

Common greenhouse pads are about 100–150 mm thick. Thicker pads add contact time and cooling when face velocity is controlled. We confirm thickness after reviewing your climate data and fan capacity.

Can pads be ordered with matching exhaust fans?

Yes. ClimaSpan quotes evaporative pads together with exhaust and circulation fans so airflow, pad area and static pressure stay matched.
