Microgreen humidity in a polycarbonate greenhouse
ClimaSpan supplies climate equipment for microgreen humidity control in polycarbonate greenhouses. Circulation fans, exhaust fans and—when summer heat requires it—evaporative cooling pads are selected to the crop density, climate and PC structure so moist air does not stagnate over trays. Soft tissue and disease pressure rise when humidity sits still under a rigid cover. Specifications are confirmed on the quotation; this page does not invent humidity setpoints or tray yields.
Microgreens are often grown on dense trays with frequent irrigation, so humidity management is a climate-equipment problem as much as a watering problem. Polycarbonate houses hold a steadier shell climate than many tunnels, which helps in cool seasons and raises the need for deliberate air exchange when trays are wet. This article explains roles only—no prices, no fabricated case studies.
Humidity under a polycarbonate envelope
Multiwall polycarbonate reduces night heat loss compared with single film in many layouts. For microgreens, that stability is useful, but wet trays still release moisture into a closed volume. Without exhaust and circulation, relative humidity climbs and air movement at tray level falls.
ClimaSpan does not sell polycarbonate kits. Structure context lives on the polycarbonate greenhouse page. Climate equipment is matched after we know house size, location and how trays are arranged.
Tray rooms and full greenhouse bays behave differently. A dedicated polycarbonate microgreen room may need tighter humidity attention than a mixed leafy bay with more empty volume. Tell us which layout you run so exhaust and circulation suggestions stay relevant.
Equipment roles for humidity and heat
Circulation fans keep air moving across tray layers so moisture does not pool in still pockets. Exhaust fans exchange room air when humidity or temperature climbs. Pad-and-fan cooling is considered when peak outdoor heat drives the design; pads cool intake air and must be planned with matching exhaust capacity.
We do not publish RH targets, ACH charts or tray densities here. Those choices belong to your crop protocol and the quotation after we review the project.
Evaporative pads add moisture to intake air while they cool it. In already humid coastal climates that trade-off matters; some projects lean on exhaust and circulation first. We do not invent a universal rule on this page—local wet-bulb data and your irrigation pattern decide.
Practical inquiry checklist
Send overall greenhouse dimensions, whether the house is dedicated to microgreens or shared, irrigation style and peak humidity or heat complaints. Note if you already have exhaust openings or pad walls. Related Resources: greenhouse air circulation, pad-and-fan cooling and how exhaust fans work.
Parent framing for leafy crops remains on the leafy greens Solutions page. Product quote paths stay on the exhaust fan, cooling pad and circulation fan pages.
Photographs of tray density and notes on fogging or condensation on PC walls help more than generic crop labels. Still, send only what you are comfortable sharing by email; we quote climate equipment, not growing media brands.
Boundaries of this page
No public prices, no invented case studies and no fertility or harvest-weight claims. Humidity outcomes depend on irrigation timing, outdoor conditions and house sealing as much as on fans. ClimaSpan confirms equipment specifications on the quotation via [email protected].
Linked Resources stay educational. Linked product pages stay commercial paths. Neither replaces a project review for fan count, pad face area or circulation layout.

Frequently asked questions
Can circulation fans alone fix microgreen humidity?
Circulation helps even out moist air, but high humidity often also needs exhaust air exchange. Pads are separate and mainly for summer cooling. We recommend a mix after reviewing your house and climate.
Do you list RH setpoints for microgreens?
No. Setpoints belong to your crop protocol. This page describes equipment roles only.
How do I request a humidity-focused quote?
Email [email protected] with polycarbonate house size, location, tray layout and humidity or heat concerns. We suggest climate equipment and quote by project.
